Africa's Largest Game Sanctuary with an area of 45,00 square kilometers the Selous Game Reserve is the largest uninhabited protected area in Africa. The reserve derives its name from hunter-explorer Frederic Courtenay Selous, a keen naturalist and conservationist as well as a hunter in the area. Selous was killed in the First World War in the Beho region of the Reserve.
Tourists "Dream Of Africa"; RUAHA National Park in the Southern Highlands region of Tanzania is the second largest park in the county, covering a rear of 12,950 square kilometers. The best time to visit the park is during the dry season between May and November as most the roads become impassable during the rains.
